Koala Crate – Bugs

Dear Sis,

We are enjoying our second Koala Crate. Today William made his own insect costume! Tomorrow we have another craft, plus we get to use the bug viewer that teaches first hand how life looks through a compound eye.

Koala Crate is a perfect blend of art and science, with monthly topics that are bound to excite a preschooler!

Quarantine Play Date

Dear Sis,

William hasn’t played with his best friend Carter since mid-March. Although both of our families are still being cautious we decided to recommence outdoor play dates with the kids, so we don’t all lose our minds:)

Charlotte played in the pool for the first time.

William loosing his cheese!

Josh commandeered the baby pool and made a water side for the boys. The baby pool was a casualty of excessive fun:)

New Play Rug

Dear Sis,

We got a new area rug for the kids play space today. Under normal circumstances there wouldn’t be much of a story here, but it is the first time I’ve ever shopped for anything over video chat before. Quarantine, is forcing us to be extra creative:)

William is still mourning the loss of the old rug. He is sure to remind me daily that he liked the old one better. The old one was purchased at a thrift store six months after Josh and I got married. The backing has been chipping off in bits of dust for years. It became problematic with Charlotte’s habit of turning up rug corners and chewing on them!

Curb Side Library Pick Up

Dear Sis,

The library and fresh reading materials is one of the things we’ve missed most over these weeks of quarantine. Today our local library system opened a curb side service. Naturally I put 50 book on hold last week to be ready for the big day! We picked most of them up today:)

Our library basket runneth over!

We are using this time to preview books for our literature based curriculum choice for this coming fall: Torchlight Level Pre-K

Pancakes with Papa

Dear Sis,

Papa Jeff was in town today to pick up a work truck. Since he was a whole 20 minutes from our house, he stopped by with a huge jar of his homemade maple syrup. Naturally, I whipped up some pancakes and sausage:)

Homemade Pizza Dough to Share

Dear Sis,

We have given out cookies four times in the last week and a half. Today we decided to share something a bit different with some of our neighbors and friends.

Each kit contains dough for two pizzas, wrapped in plastic wrap, a small bag of cornmeal, and an instruction print out in a freezer bag.
