Dear Sis,
I like to make a special treat and cook out on Memorial Day. It was a perfect opportunity to test another recipe for Evelyn’s birthday picnic next month:)
I’ve finally got my burger recipe perfected, so I guess it is time to share it:)

Hi Sis,
Memorial weekend went by in a blur! Nate had Friday off (His company does 9hr days and has every other Friday off… and it is absolutely wonderful!) so he and a few friends gathered to play games. Mom also came over to spend some time with Evelyn/us lol!
While those two were having fun, I finished the baptism gown!
On Saturday, mom and I spent the morning running around a few local garage sales. Evelyn lucked out, here she is with her lot.Nate helped her wash the toys. She was completely saturated from all the splashing!
Afterward, Pamela came over and joined us girls for some plant shopping. I got some flowers for the flower pots in front of the house and a few herbs and other goodies for the garden.
On Sunday Nate and I woke early to help with the Baptism. It was a very busy day driving, setting up the party, and talking to friends. And Erin looked adorable in her gown!
Jenn came to the baptism! Jenn, Lanky (Erin’s dad) and Nate (my hubby) have been best friends since 2nd grade! It was Jenn’a first time meeting Evelyn and I think Erin too! We will see everyone again soon at Evelyn’s birthday!!
We went home very sleepy, and happy Nate didn’t have to run to work monday morning. He was looking forward to playing games with a few friends. Who knew, all three friends would cancel! So, we ended up working in the garden. I have a video of Evelyn I need to upload!

Hi Sis,
I finished the pattern and mockup for Erin’s baptism gown. I was super happy to see that she was about the same size as Evelyn! That meant I could fit the mockup to Evelyn and make it a cute summer dress. It fit Erin nicely, and now Evelyn has another nice dress. I think I will shorten it though!
On the same day we had the dress fitting, we also went to a park to celebrate Erin (cousin Erin not our friend’s baby Erin hehehe) confirmation. It was nice to see some family. I dressed Evelyn up in her Little Hedda dress (Drops Design pattern). I made a 0-3 month old size, but it fits her so much better now at 10 months old.

Dear Sis,
We just got home from a wonderful visit to Nashville. We arrived Monday evening. Granny Bob made some of her wonderful beef stew!
Tuesday, we started the day with breakfast at Great Granny’s and a visit to a local playground.
Then we visited Opry Mills Mall. We had lunch in the food court, William and Daddy road the carousel, we ate yummy cookies, and enjoyed the mall play area.
We returned to Great Granny’s for a family filled evening. Uncle Jim grilled delicious steaks, and all the uncles, aunts, and cousins visited. We supplied dessert… Watermelon Jello Jigglers we were testing out for Evelyn’s party.
We rode a ferry on the way home! William got a kick out of it… to say the least:)
The ferry isn’t the fastest way to cross the Kentucky/Ohio line, but it is the most fun!
After crossing, we watched the ferry go back across.
Our visit was short, but wonderfully sweet!

Hi Sis,
Evelyn’s newly discovered, and rapidly growing mobility has made it so she can cruz around the house, play play play, and even put away her toys. She has started to put away her toys without my help or motivation.
She took out the cheese grater to play with, and put it back when she was done. Normally, I do not wedge it in sideways on top a flipped over water bottle, but one must start somewhere.
Evelyn also has been seen putting away her books, blocks, stuffed toys, and kitchen finds (The whisk and avocado oil are favorites) She also is mimicking me cleaning! Yesterday, the laundry basket and I got wiped down with a dry sponge. 😂
A video, that for some reason is only uploading as a link?

Dear Sis,
This week we tested hot dogs and meatball hoagies in the slow cooker. I’ve always done them on the range, so I wasn’t sure how long we’d need to have them in before the party.
Hot Dogs need a two hour head start, and then will keep the duration of the party on warm.
I put frozen meatballs in the slow cooker and covered them with jared sauce.
Again, a two hour head start is plenty, to get the meatballs good and hot for the party.
The salad pairs perfectly with the hoagies!
