New Arrivals

Hi Sis,

I was missing my chickens! This is the first spring I didn’t have chicks since I was maybe 5??? So, after some talking to hubby I got 25 bantam cochin chicks. I picked bantam cochins because they are so friendly, and I loved them growing up. They seem to be a good choice. They are so friendly, they don’t mind our crazy toddler gawking, screaming, and petting them.

We also got a surprise. In the box to keep the chicks warm was two ducks! I opened the box and Nate and I looked at each other.

Me: “I didn’t order the ducks.”

Nate: “Are you sure, you’ve talked about getting ducks before.”

All well, the ducks are a happy addition to the family. After all, we do have a massive pond in the backyard. We weren’t sure what to name them. Ritz & Graham Quackers or Muddy and Puddle Ducks. So, we did a family and friend poll and Ritz and Graham Quackers was the decided names.

Love,

Jamiegoof

update: Nate went to the feedstore and brought home Muddy and Puddles. He and William both liked those names.
